The Academy of Dance of the state funded Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts has a rich tradition in training dancers in Germany. Its roots stretch back to the glittering era of ballet in Mannheim in the 18th Century. From 1997 until 2019, Prof. Birgit Keil managed the Mannheim Dance Academy. Under the leadership of the former internationally celebrated ballerina of the Stuttgart Ballet, the Academy has been able to further establish and build on its reputation. Former graduates are currently dancers in prestigious companies both at home and abroad.
In 2023 prof. Grant Martin Scruggs kindly offered to 4 wonderful dancers at Dance Grand Prix Sofia scholarships for free weekly training at the Academy. Two were invited to attend official auditions for admission.
Will there be more surprises for our participants from the Academy in 2024?
Stay tuned for more news!
